How Do Blow Dryer Work?

Posted by Brattany at 8:27 AM

We are all very familiar with the daily routine, wash your hair, then automatically picks up the hair dryer, turn the key and there is hot air to dry quickly and let's get through the day. There are good reasons for people to dry your hair with a hair dryer, going out with wet hair, especially in winter can be bad for our health and lead to colds and chills. Most people would probably not have considered a hair dryer works and how the design allows the User to blow hot air without us burning our hair or head.

The foundations of a hair dryer is very simple, there are two main parts that are essential to the operation and these are heat and air. So how do the work hairdryers, quite simply, the two elements are together and pushed the hot air is pushed through the funnel and out in a direction of the device. Heat is generated from an element within the hair, which will heat very quickly, but it does not help if all the hot air is contained within the unit, on the one hand it will get too hot too touch and secondly the hair will not perform the task that is supposed too. The second part is the fan to push air out of the dryer, which is a very simple engine that turns the fan to push air and then you can dry your hair. Most hair dryers will also allow you to turn off the heater and blow cold air, if they so wish.

Many of the hair dryers today will allow the user to regulate and control the heat as the air is hot coming out of the dryer. The hotter the heater hotter the air is being pushed through dry hair. The heat is normally regulated by a heating coil, when the dryer is connected to the wires in coils will heat and become hot. The coil wire (nichrome) consists of a series of two different alloys of these metals are nickel and chrome, you can find these in any number of household items, including toasters and kettles. These two elements are excellent conductors of heat and nichrome wire is a poor conductor of electricity, so the league is very resistant to heat, allowing you to get very hot.

Another important element is the nichrome wire will not rust or oxidize, it is critical and allows the hair dryer to function properly and for a longer time. When air is pushed through the main body of the hair dryer is cold before it reaches the element, depending on how long it takes to the air through the dryer will dictate how the hot air will be when it leaves the other side. The switch temperature control fan will speed up or slow it down and it then allows the temperature must be set correctly.
